RSIC is a pure SIC material with an open porosity of approx. 11 to 15 %. As a result it has in comparison to the dense SIC ceramics a lower strength, but an excellent thermal shock resistance.
The non-shrinking manufacturing process enables the production of large size Recrystallized Silicon Carbide ceramic components which are then mainly used as kiln furniture with a high load-bearing capacity. The maximum application temperature lies between 1600 and 1650 °C
Recrystallized Silicon Carbide beams are widely used in porcelain santary ware, alumina roller, porcelain insulator productions and a variety of high temperature firing perfomances. The sizes can be customized for RSIC beams.
The features and benefits for RSIC ceramic beams are as follows:
high temperature strength allows heavy loading weight
excellent thermal shock resistance
high thermal conductivity
excellent oxidation resistance translates to long life under high working temperature
